Eucalyptus (BSB 23)
Fast Growing

Harvest in 4 Years. Regrow. Repeat.

Eucalyptus is the fastest-returning timber tree available and grows well across all climate zones throughout India. It can grow in most soil types and needs only low to moderate water, making it suitable even for rain-fed farmland. Our BSB 23 clone is developed for maximum biomass output, producing 20 to 58 cubic metres of timber per hectare every year.

Trees are planted at a spacing of 2 by 2 metres, allowing over 1,000 plants per acre, which gives you one of the highest yields from any timber crop. The first full harvest comes in just 4 to 5 years, after which the stumps naturally regrow on their own with no replanting needed. This regrowth can be harvested 2 to 3 more times, earning you income from the same land every 4 to 5 years, with returns of 5 to 8 lakh rupees per acre each time.

Eucalyptus wood is always in demand from paper mills, pulp factories, and rayon manufacturers, so finding a buyer is rarely difficult. These industries run all year round and need a steady supply, making Eucalyptus one of the most reliable commercial timber crops for Indian farmers today. Once the canopy closes in the first year, the plantation needs very little attention and practically looks after itself.

Key Advantages

Key Advantages

Coppices 2–3 Times

After the first harvest, stumps regrow naturally, eliminating replanting costs and delivering income every 4–5 years.

Guaranteed Industry Demand

Paper, pulp, and rayon industries operate 24/7 and require consistent eucalyptus supply, making off-take virtually guaranteed.

Highest Density Planting

2×2m spacing allows over 1,000 plants per acre, maximising yield from every square metre of your land.

20–58 m³/hectare Annual Yield

BSB 23 clone delivers some of the highest biomass yields among commercial timber species available in India.

Growth Timeline

Growth Timeline

Year 0

Planting

BSB 23 clonal saplings planted at high density. Extremely fast establishment, canopy forms within months.

Year 1

Canopy Formation

Full canopy closure suppresses weeds naturally. Minimal maintenance required from this point forward.

Year 4–5

First Harvest

Full stand harvested. Stumps immediately begin coppicing, no replanting required for next rotation.

Year 8–10

Second & Third Rotation

Coppice regrowth delivers second and third harvests with near-zero establishment cost, pure return.
